XB FALCON and FAIRMONT FACTS


BUILD YEAR:
XB Model 1974 (built from late 1973 to 1976) Produced in Right Hand Drive only, designed and built in Australia.

MODELS:

ENGINES:

• Six Cylinder 250 Cu.Inch
• 302 CI. Cleveland V8 (yes a 302 Cleveland, 302 is a de-stroked 351)
• 351 CI. Cleveland V8 (2 or 4 Barrel carb options)

OPTIONS:

• C4 or FMX Automatic Transmission or 4 speed manual gearbox
• Front Disc Brakes (4 wheel discs available on GT only)
• Air Conditioning (fitted to about 30% of coupes)
• Power windows (only on a small amount of cars)
• Power steering and brakes ( fitted to almost all coupes)
• Sunroof (very rare)
• Outback Pack

XB GT FALCON STANDARD:

• 351 4 Barrel Cleveland V8.
• 9 Inch Ford Rearend.
• 4 wheel Disc Brakes,
• 4 Speed Manual Toploader or FMX Automatic Transmissions.
• Dual Exhaust with rectangular exhaust tips.
• Full Guage set with Tach.
• Special Grill with Driving Lights.
• Vented Hood with Twist Lock Pins.
• A non-functional side air vents in front of the rear wheels.
• Special black or silver-grey hood and side paint accents.
• Bumpers in body color.

GT Falcon coupes are very desirable, and commanding strong prices. In the 3 and 1/2 years of production of the XB, only 949 GT's were ever made.
